WILL ANC EVER FULFILL IT'S PROMISES TO THE NATION?

Article by: Anastacia Mashaba

The African National Congress has been promising improvement and development to the citizens since it gained power, but still a lot needs to be done. Issues of unemployment and poverty amongst others are very difficult to solve, and everytime the election time comes there are lots of empty promises. This political party is corrupt and is slowly annihilating the nation. Our leaders are not leading by example, they do what will benefit them and their families. Here it's all about money people's needs are not put first, which is wrong.

The ANC is continually corrupting the nation, it relates to a series of bribes paid to companies involved in the ongoing R55 billion Arms Deal sagaArms, which resulted in a long term jail sentence to former Deputy President Jacob Zuma's legal adviser Schabir Shaik. Other recent corruption issues include the sexual misconduct and criminal charges of  Beaufort West municipal manager Truman Prince and the Oilgate scandal, in which millions of Rand in funds from a state-owned company were allegedly funneled into ANC coffers.

Our leaders only care about money and luxurious lives, this includes minister of International Relaions Maite Nkoana-Mashabane who spent R235000 of  taxpayers’ on a private jet after refusing to have her  handbag searched at Oslo airport  this month. Nkoana-Mashabane’s refusal to  put her handbag through an airport  X-ray scanner in Oslo, Norway, resulted in her missing a commercial  flight to Bulgaria where she was  due to attend a meeting. As a result  she ended up hiring a private jet at  a cost of R235343.“Yet again, ordinary South  Africans have had to foot the bill  for the vanity and excesses of those  who are meant to be public servants,” said DA national  spokeswoman Lindiwe Mazibuko.
The list is endless when coming ANC corruption, our leaders should fight for the nation not for their pockets because this impacts the nation more than them.

Power problem disrupts Gautrain airport service

06 September, 2011 15:28
The Gautrain will be running between Sandton and Centurion only.
Rhodesfield station, close to Johannesburg's OR Tambo International airport, was affected by a general power problem around 12.30pm, said Gautrain spokesman Errol Braithwaite.
Some trains ran more slowly for a short time, but the problem was resolved within 45 minutes.
